The Dragonfly OSMO is NEMO's answer to the ultralight tent question, and the OSMO fabric is the real story here. Traditional nylon tents sag when wet, gaining 20%+ weight. OSMO absorbs 3x less water than standard nylon. In practice? The tent stays taut in rain and packs out lighter the next morning.
I tested this on a 3-day Boundary Waters trip in September. Steady drizzle on day two, and the tent performed exactly as advertised. No sagging, no pooling, packed up without feeling waterlogged.
Interior space is tight but livable for one person with gear. Two people? You'd better like each other. The single door is the main compromise — midnight bathroom runs mean climbing over your tent mate.
Build quality is exceptional. DAC Featherlite NSL poles, #5 YKK zippers, and reinforced stress points. This thing is built to last seasons.
